THE EAST GEELONG FOOTBALL AND NETBALL CLUB
The Club was formed in 1879 as part of the first competitive football competition in Geelong. We have continuously and successfully represented the East Geelong community for over 130 years.
The East Geelong FNC is affiliated with the Geelong and District Football League for the Seniors and Reserves Football and all Netball competitions. Our Junior Football is affiliated with AFL Barwon.
Since the club's formation in 1879, the club has been known as East Geelong (1879-1892, 1907-1979, 2000-present), Marylebone (1893-1906), and Eastern Suburbs (1980-1999).
In season 2023 the Club fielded 10 football sides made up of 8 junior sides and 2 senior sides (Seniors and Reserves). This includes 2 junior girls teams.
The Club also fielded 9 netball sides in 2023 made up of 4 senior sides and 5 junior sides. The A-Grade netball took out the GDFL premiership in 2022, for the first time in the clubs history. Our U17 and U15 netball sides also won their respective grand finals in 2022 and 2023.
East Geelong Football and Netball Club also offer a successful Auskick and NetSetGo program for our younger members. Season 2023 saw the introduction of girls footy for the first time.
The East Geelong FNC is recognised as a valuable and important institution and is committed to providing high quality opportunities for people to play, enjoy and be involved with Australian Rules Football and Netball. All aspects of Club operations are undertaken with integrity and commitment to the Club's purpose, aims and goals.
In Season 2023 the East Geelong FNC was awarded the Champion Club by the Geelong District Football and Netball League, following on from receiving the award in 2022 and 2021 also.
