THE EAST GEELONG FOOTBALL AND NETBALL CLUB
The Club was formed in 1879 as part of the first competitive football competition in Geelong. We have continuously and successfully represented the East Geelong community for over 130 years.
The East Geelong FNC is affiliated with the Geelong and District Football League for the Seniors and Reserves Football and all Netball competitions. Our Junior Football is affiliated with AFL Barwon.
Since the club's formation in 1879, the club has been known as East Geelong (1879-1892, 1907-1979, 2000-present), Marylebone (1893-1906), and Eastern Suburbs (1980-1999).
In season 2025 the Club fielded 11 football sides made up of 9 junior sides and 2 senior sides (Seniors and Reserves). This includes 3 junior girls teams. The Reserves were premiers in 2025, with the Senior team runner up.
The Club also fielded 9 netball sides in 2025, made up of 5 senior sides and 4 junior sides. Our C grade, E Grade, U17 and U13 netball sides won premierships in 2025. The U17 side has now won 4 premierships in a row.
East Geelong Football and Netball Club also offer a successful Auskick and NetSetGo program for our younger members. Season 2023 saw the introduction of girls footy for the first time which continued on in 2025. This followed in the footsteps of the Senior Women's trailblazers who played in the VWFL from 2000 through to 2004. That Senior Women's side were the Division 2 Premiers in 2002, coached by Janelle Cribb.
The East Geelong FNC is recognised as a valuable and important institution and is committed to providing high quality opportunities for people to play, enjoy and be involved with Australian Rules Football and Netball. All aspects of Club operations are undertaken with integrity and commitment to the Club's purpose, aims and goals.
In Season 2025 the East Geelong FNC was awarded the Champion Club by the Geelong District Football and Netball League, along with the Netball Club Champion Award.
